Be on the same map and then let the owner open up the insance. 4 yr. ago. i didnt mean that kind if instance, i meant different versions of the same world map, there used to be a button if you rightclicked their name in the topleft corner to join them. But when I start a story instance and let a friend join in, and my friend crashes, she will be back outside of this instance and can never join in again. Entering story instance creates a new one. There are a couple things to consider: Servers listed as "Full" may not be during off hours, so try selecting that server during that time. For PvE there are megaservers, meaning that you do not need a server affiliation to PvE with friends. The only exception to that at this time is World vs World. If you can see your friend, click on their character, then right click their character portrait and choose Group -> Join Group from the menu.
